Scottish Chamber Orchestra with Nicola Benedetti, violin

  • HELZBERG HALL, KAUFFMAN CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS 1601 Broadway Boulevard Kansas City, MO, 64108 United States (map)

Hailed as “one of the finest ensembles of its kind in the world today,” the internationally celebrated Scottish Chamber Orchestra is known for its exceptional performances and its extensive, multi-award-winning recordings. From re-imagining the classical masters and romantic greats, to sharing contemporary commissions, the world-class musicians of the SCO travel around the world as proud ambassadors for Scottish cultural excellence. The inspirational young conductor Maxim Emelyanychev, who has appeared on the Series with Il Pomo d’Oro, will direct this performance.

This tour highlights an amazing Scottish National Treasure, violinist Nicola Benedetti, whose ability to captivate audiences with her innate musicianship and spirited presence, coupled with her wide appeal as a high-profile advocate for classical music, has made her one of the most influential classical artists of today. Fun fact...Benedetti first appeared on the Series in 2007 as a Discovery Concert artist!
